せっかくなので、ここから車で１時間半ほど西の兵庫県香美町に位置する、円山応挙一門の襖絵で有名な大乗寺に。
応挙が若い頃、京都で苦学をしていたとき、才能を見込んで当時大乗寺の住職であった密蔵上人が銀三貫目を与え、それをもとに江戸で学び名を成した応挙は、後になって、恩返しに、息子や弟子たちを連れて大乗寺に戻り、13余りの部屋の襖絵を描いたそうです。

We drove about 1 hour and half west to Daijoji Temple, where paintings of Okyo Maruyama is known.
When Okyo was young and struggling in Kyoto, then the head monk of Daijoji gave him the money of Silver of about three Kan, with which he used to study in Edo (Tokyo). Later when he was well established he came back to this temple with his son and disciples to paint the sliding doors of 13 rooms in this temple out of gratitude.
